Build Your Own Prestige - Block 166

I went in expecting a plain block and got one with way more character than the photo showed — the grain and color shifts are really nice up close. Took me a few tries before one survived the build, but the finished piece sits on my desk and I keep picking it up.

Took me about an hour to get the hang of it, and once I did, the block went together way more smoothly than I expected. I went with a lacquer finish and it definitely made the colors deeper, so it was worth the extra step.

The block I got has such a cool grain pattern, and it's clear someone actually picked it out rather than grabbing a random one off a shelf. I hit it with a coat of lacquer and the colors popped way more than I expected.
