The grain on the block I got is way nicer than the photo suggested, and a quick coat of lacquer really made the color pop like they said. Building it was simple enough for a weekend afternoon, and it's now the centerpiece of my shelf.

The block arrived well packed and the grain pattern matched the listing photo closely. I haven't lacquered mine yet, so the colors are a bit muted right now, but that's on me for skipping that step. Just wish there was a bit more guidance included on which finishes work best.
