I was a bit worried about the "some blocks fail" note, but mine arrived perfect. The wood grain is rich, and once I applied a clear lacquer the colors really popped.

The wood grain on this block came out beautifully after I sealed it with a matte lacquer. I’m using it to hold my watch and ring at night, and it adds a nice touch to the nightstand. Just wish the color was a bit more vibrant without the lacquer.

I applied a couple coats of clear lacquer and the colors popped just like the description promised. The grain pattern on this block has a beautiful depth that really makes it stand out from the standard ones I've seen.
