Discover what makes Block 328 unique in Noble Audio's Prestige series. Learn about its vibrant lacquer finish, real-world build risks, and whether this custom IEM is right for you.
Quick answer
Block 328 stands out for its vibrant lacquer finish, which creates deeper, more saturated colors than standard blocks. However, the build process carries a risk of failure, so you need a backup plan.
The lacquer advantage
Block 328 is designed to deliver colors that are more vibrant with lacquer. If you value deep, saturated hues that catch the light, this block offers a visual impact that standard finishes cannot match.
Real build risks
Not every block survives the manufacturing process. If Block 328 fails during build, Noble Audio will notify you and let you choose another block or cancel the order. This is not a defect but a natural limitation of working with organic materials.
Decision rules
- Choose Block 328 if: You want the most vibrant lacquer finish available in the Prestige series and are comfortable with the possibility of a block swap.
- Have a fallback block ready: Since failures happen, identify a second block you like before ordering. This avoids delays if your first choice fails. Prepare a backup block to keep the process moving.
- Check typical build time: Build takes 6–8 weeks. Factor this into your timeline, especially if you need the IEMs by a specific date. Order early enough to accommodate the build window.
